“Lives End” – Charlie Willemann IV

War is as dark as space

It leaves a space in your lover’s heart

after you have been blown apart

They cover your grave with expensive lace

You are trained to be sprayed with mace

Gun shots are heard from all over

Then shells leaver your skin tender

You see blood spattered

From your best friends

But you didn’t think you were signing up to see lives end

You are scared of all this fighting

But you are forced to do so when there is no lighting

War is cold

Your nostrils are filled with the constant stench of mold

You don’t get much food

Your body is frail

And you feel like a cold steel rail

You see blood spattered

From your best friends

But you didn’t think you were signing up to see lives end
