“The Death of Pyrrha Nikos” -Mina Chhikara

A kiss goodbye, first
and final. Love shown at last.
Silent eyes say farewell.

A javelin soars, aim true.
But dodged with a careless smirk,
the foreshadowed end

One final stand, blown
away. A strike to the heel
forcing her to kneel.

A hand touches her
chin, a defiant glare. A bow
appears, drawn tauntly. Aimed,

directly at her heart.
The arrow flies straight, prompting
gasps of pain as she

breathes out, one last time.
Her body slumps, turned to ash.
Cinders swirl away.
