Sam fieldson – A Thorn to give

A thorn to give

It’s a natural question for those that live
The purpose that they have to give,
And for those who feel that they have a burden
On these special days of hearts and friends
I have a thorn to give

This gift I bring was once not vile
A tool that was a symbol of how I was blind
Once a rose, shriveled in the moon
The moon that we will all walk underneath
And for those unwilling to look at the truth of the sky
I have a thorn to give.

People lack the mind to see beyond
The fog that we create,
To order us,
To blind us,
To make us think we are bound by a sense of duty,
And for those who blindly walk into the fog with hope
I have a thorn to give

The best of gifts to use on days like this
To have time to ponder on a plan,
But no we charge into the fog without a plan
But with thoughts,
And to those who charge in with visions of grandeur
And success
On self deemed special days,
I have a thorn to give.
